Have you never told a lie, or taken something you shouldn\u2019t?\u00a0 A handful of sugars from a coffee shop, more napkins than you need? Told someone you didn\u2019t know about an appointment, when you had forgotten? So, there you are, to be totally and scrupulously honest is almost impossible. Being an honest person is best applied to the more important things in \u00a0 <strong>Can you face up to your weaknesses<\/strong>?\u00a0 Do you suffer with being \u2018holier than thou?\u2019 Don\u2019t be\u2026 It\u2019s very smug and gives you an air of superiority which is daunting to others. Can you stop before you cheat or lie when you know you shouldn\u2019t. If you feel that you cannot stop, then face up to your weakness and best stay quiet and say nothing or keep yourself busy.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0<strong>Are you honest to yourself?<\/strong> Are you really being honest with yourself?\u00a0 Are you cheating on a spouse or partner? Are you being honest with them? Are you truly committed to a friend or neighbour? Be honest with yourself and admit to your cheating or misdemeanours. If you are playing with the life of someone else, especially someone who appears to trust you \u2013 It is better to be as honest with them as you are with yourself.\u00a0 \u00a0<strong>Admit to your failings:<\/strong> Admitting to your failings is very difficult, we often don\u2019t know what our failing are. But this is where to can speak to someone who you feel is honest and trustworthy and ask them to be totally up-front with you, as this is the only way you are going to find out\u2026 Did your honest friend tell you that you often fib, and that you have been known to promise to keep secrets then gone out blabbing to everyone. Well, thank goodness for someone who is honest.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <strong>How do you feel about thoughtful lies?<\/strong> It\u2019s not always easy knowing the hard-truth, the honest facts, therefore, white-lies are often the best policy, especially if someone is afraid, or nervous. Many people like to be hit-hard with the stark truth, whilst others need to learn the facts slowly, which enables them to cope with the truth when it finally comes, hence, white-lies can help someone who is worried or fearful gradually come to terms with the truth\u2026 No, your scar hardly shows, don\u2019t worry all will be well, you will easily cope, I am sure it will all work out fine\u2026\u00a0 All white-lies of course, but thoughtful lies that help someone eventually accept the truth.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <strong>Remember<\/strong>, there are times in everyone\u2019s life when its very unkind and thoughtless to \u2018tell the truth\u2019. When someone asks for your opinion on their appearance for example, is it suitable to be totally honest and say they look awful?\u00a0 Sometimes it can be life-shattering to someone to be told the hard-facts about a person they love, so it may be better to say you don\u2019t know anything \u2013 or tell a white-lie, rather than tell them the blatant truth immediately.
