Wonderful World:  Trees.

Trees – I have always been fascinated by those wonderful, amazing, beautiful, huge structures that cover the earth, and help to provide us human beings with a large amount of the oxygen we need to breath and live. There are many things about trees that people find amazing – They are used for all manners of things which help us live our lives, from shading us from the harmful rays of the sun, to providing us with nuts, berries and fruits of all kinds, to being fashioned into a set of cupboards or drawers in which to place our clothes and to keeping the fire alive that keeps us warm. In fact, there is no end to the use of trees.  They provide food and shelter to many thousands of species of birds, animals and insects and without them the world would be a very sorry place, in fact without trees I believe the planet would die!  Trees are often called the lungs of the planet for they need carbon dioxide, a gas that us human’s breath out, and in return trees give off oxygen which us humans need, so trees are a necessity to us. Trees provide shelter for our homes and they can shield us from harmful weather, they can act as wind-breaks and absorb water saving our land from flooding. Trees when planted along highways can help reduce the pollution created by vehicles. So, look after the trees you have around you and plant more if you can. Trees can calm us and help us connect with nature. Trees help us relax and stimulates our artistic nature, prompting many of us to write poetry, novels and produce some beautiful artwork, so love your trees and gaze upon them when you are feeling down or depressed.   Don’t forget to remind your children and grandchildren about the need to care for and love trees, because it’s their oxygen and future that’s at stake not ours.
