Zen encourages its believers to live in a state of calm, whilst being fully conscious of their movements and actions. Zen thinking urges its followers to think deeply before acting, then act more on intuition than by following religious text or what they have been told.  Zen relies on self-knowledge and experience, for only you know your inner thoughts and true self. Zen aims to free your mind from doing and acting the way you think you should act and refrain from having to act the way that is considered the norm’.  Zen attempts to tap into the true meaning of life, without being influenced by what you are told or what you read. Zen is the belief that life should be lived by indulging in deep, calm thoughts and self-knowledge. Zen looks upon things in life as they are, as opposed to being what they are thought to be, or ought to be. Zen encourages their followers to take life as it comes, be it good or bad, and discourages its people to try to analyse everything that happens. Take life as it comes by keeping a calm attitude of acceptance, as opposed to trying to work everything out as to what, how and why… just keep peaceful and accept.
