Virtues: Generosity.

Generosity is an amazing gift that not only creates satisfaction within our own lives, but enables others to live a better, and fuller life. Here are five ways you can practice being generous.  Donate to worthy causes as and when you can: You cannot donate to too many charities of course, but choose a charity you favour and give. Any small amount you can provide monthly will be very meaningful. Be ready to use your skills for those who are needy:  A bit of DIY for someone in need, some gardening perhaps, how about taking someone shopping? Someone who doesn’t or cannot drive. Stopping by a neighbour who may need a bit of help, and their grateful thanks is always rewarding. Be generous with your time: We all lead very busy lives these days, and you must never sacrifice time with your nearest and dearest. However, even the smallest amount of time given to someone who has no one to talk to helps us build empathy and understanding. Be ready to give help and advice: Each and every one of us are given some ability or talent in life that we can pass on to others… The generosity of your advice to someone in need is beyond goodness and care, we are often stalled by not knowing what to do or who to turn to, your advice could save a life. Encourage others to be generous: You will probably notice that if you are generous with your money, time and talents, others will be prompted to be generous in return. Teach your children to be generous, it’s a wonderful virtue to be blessed with, and is extremely satisfying. Remember: Generosity is a very worthy virtue, not only to others but to yourself. I’m a great believer in that old saying: ‘What goes around, comes around’. The old saying suggests that, if you are generous to others, others will be generous to you…
