Virtues: Responsibility.

Responsibility: Being responsible, is a very important role. To be made responsible, means you are in overall charge. Here are five ways you can take responsibility in your life.  Understand being responsible: It is all very well being responsible for your own home and family but being given responsibility at work or in your community is something much bigger.  You can be assured that if you take responsibility for something and it is successful, you can indeed take the credit, but if your actions and decisions fail then you have to be ready to take the blame.   Are you prepared to be responsible:  Before being put in charge of anything think long and hard. If you feel confident that you can manage being responsible for the outcome of your actions, then that is fine. But, if you hesitate, and are not sure if you can cope with the amount of control you will have to take on, then I would think again, for once committed, it may be difficult to step back, so be prepared.   Can you avoid being responsible: I suppose you can avoid being responsible for something, anything, especially if you are very laid back, too afraid, boring, or just lazy, so yes, whatever anyone requests you take responsibility for you can always say NO! However, that does mean that, if you say no too many times, people will refrain from asking you to do anything, and think of how dismal you might feel if no one respects you enough to ask anything of you.   Be responsible for yourself: One of the main areas of responsibility lies with yourself, to be moral and accountable for yourself is paramount to a successful and happy life. Be fully answerable for your actions, for your health, for your happiness and for your mistakes.    Stand up: Yes, mistakes… We all make mistakes, we are human, and humans only learn via their mistakes… That is the main reason you need to think twice before taking on a responsibility you are not confident with. Even if you feel sure you can accomplish what you have taken on, there is always the chance that something will go wrong, or a mistake is made, it happens to the best of us, so, in the event of a responsibility going astray you need to be ready to stand up and take the blame.  Remember, whether we like it or not, we all have responsibilities thrust upon us. So, over time we gradually learn how to be responsible, if for little else, then our own actions in life. Can you remain trustworthy, honest and reliable to those who rely on us? If so, then you wear the cloak of responsibility well my friend.
