Healing: Take-time.

What do you do if you wake up in the morning feeling unwell, sick, headache, whatever? Do you rush straight to the medicine cabinet and search for something that you think will make your ache, pain, or discomfort go away, or do you just crawl back into bed and go back to sleep?  Yeh! That’s just about the best thing you can do, for even if you take pills, or medication it will never work instantly, so why fill your body with unnecessary substances if your body is already working hard trying to heal you? It’s only when your body is too tired or too stressed to do a good job that you need to turn to medication…  Even then, why not try giving yourself rest and time for your natural chemicals and hormones, to do their work. If you have a good diet, your body will take in all it needs for natural healing, essential nutrients such as vitamins, minerals, proteins, fats and carbohydrates, all pull together when you are feeling unwell. You need to keep yourself well hydrated of course, so be sure to get, or ask someone to supply you with a glass of fresh tap-water, so that each time your mouth becomes a bit dry you can take a few sipes. Usually, by the time you have rested well, calmed down and feel relaxed you will probably feel ready to get up and have a bite to eat, only eat a small amount at first, of course, as you only need to satisfy your need for a little food, you don’t need to fill yourself up to the brim. Just give yourself and your body time to recover, and by doing so, your body will be well equipped to heal you again if you become unwell, you certainly don’t need your body to become lazy or forget what it needs to do to make you better. So, take time out for your body to do its work and only turn to your medicine cabinet, or your GP if your body is struggling to heal you.
