Sleep is by far and away the very best health enhancing remedy your body can have. There is hardly any everyday illness or problem that I can think of where sleep isn’t one of the best healing drugs you can have… Whilst you are asleep, both your body and mind are getting complete rest, and although you may toss and turn a few times during your sleep, your mind, and internal organs are taking a break from its wakeful activities. Throughout your sleep time, your body is actively healing, restoring and resetting your body back into its best place, calm, refreshed, and ready to start a new day. Rest is also important, but sleep is way better. No matter what your problem, your body and mind will actually request, quite fervently, that you sleep, just think about the last time you had a headache, or the onset of a cold, or perhaps you have had a very stressful day, your body will automatically get you to sit down, or lie down and before you know what is happening you have fallen asleep, and that is because your body can then set about trying to heal your problem so, don’t try to go against your inner doctor, just do what it requests of you. Your body is taking in all kinds of germs and toxins during its normal everyday activities and it is during its nightly sleep the defence organisms can get to work detecting any harmful substances and ridding your body of them. Your mind gets a break too, for even if you dream, it is only your brain going through its mass of files and perhaps recounting them or deleting them, enabling you to think more clearly and make better choices for what is ahead, just one of the reasons, that it’s not always good to act on compulsion, rather, sleep on any problems or decisions you need to make before taking the plunge. And if you go to bed and can’t fall asleep, try slowly counting one to one hundred, and if you still cannot fall asleep just lie quiet and rest, for rest is almost as good as sleep. Good night!
