There is nothing that purifies or detoxes the body, mind, and spirit more than exercise. Our amazing bodies were designed to move and in so doing helps to clear toxins and other poisons away from both outside and inside the body. Physical exercise encourages the body to perspire which in turn pushes internal toxins out through the pours of the skin so that when we bathe or shower after the workout those toxins are washed away. Movement also helps to keep the joints, bones, muscles, and ligaments supple and free from pain and other ailments that are brought about by inactivity and slothfulness. Exercise also gives permission and allows the mind to quieten as we concentrate on the movements we are making. Whether we are following an exercise programme, moving to music, or just movements that our body is doing for us, our heavy thoughts are waning. Whilst exercising, our mind becomes calmer and less agitated, have you ever noticed? When moving our body gently, we cease to be angry, our feelings of jealousy diminish, our sorrow, or sadness eases, all our emotions become controlled. And for the time being we are just living in the moment, in the now! When our bodies are moving, our spirit is enlightened and is nourished with higher thoughts… Human beings are the only creatures on the earth that can think and reason, create and build, speak and write, we can laugh and cry, we can forgive and our conscience gives us empathy and compassion. Whether you have a faith or believe in a higher-power, it is through gentle exercise that we can feel and become incredibly close to that power. If you have no faith at all, who knows? Thorough gentle exercise, just going for a casual walk in the countryside, or by the sea, may help you find a power on earth that you never knew existed.
