Unlike many decades ago, people, especially young people today are full of expectations. They grow into adulthood expecting to have all the good things in life, money, all types of electronic devises, cars, phones, plenty of food, designer clothes, you name it, and people expect to have it, and why not? However, expecting all that money can buy is perhaps understandable, but there are many things in life that are priceless, things you cannot buy, such as love, manners, respect, integrity, happiness, peace: Yeh, yeh, yeh… ok, that might sound pathetic and a bit o.t.t, but I challenge you to go out and buy a new phone, easy, yes? A multitude of shops, a copious amount of phones, all types, big ones, little ones, book-fold, flip-phones, just tap your credit card and yep, hey-presto, you have your new phone… no problem… Now, I challenge you to go out and try to buy respect! Shops? No shops sorry, buy online? Nothing on line? eBay? Amazon? No Sorry! How about, trying to buy happiness? Sorry, but you will no doubt hit the same problems as trying to buy respect… So, what am I trying to say to you? Well, expecting whatever you want is fine, if finances allow, but there are bound to be times in your life, indeed all of our lives when money is tight, and when there are more important things to acquire than getting the things we want and expect. There are times when you have to take a long, hard, look at what you expect to have and learn to except what you can afford, remembering perhaps, that it isn’t clothes, and lots of money, fancy goods and designer shoes that are important, sometimes, it’s the love, generosity, respect and integrity that you should value as they are the items that you cannot buy no matter how much money you have, for the priceless items are not for sale, they have to be earned…
