All Chinese or Japanese Gardens are dominated as a rule with yang energy, therefore, one of the main sights in your garden is stone, usually a very large stone that generates in the person viewing the feelings of energy, confidence, and sanctuary. Large natural rocks or stones need to be well planned out as, for the everyday gardener, once laid or set they are extremely difficult to move or re-positions. Placing your major, yang stone needs a great deal of consideration, if your garden is large, it can be place in the centre of your garden but if your garden is small, it can be happily place near a suitable corner. Any large stones must be secured and set as well balanced and as safe as possible. Surround your stone with sand or a suitable material to make the stone look as natural as possible, you can even dig a shallow hole in the ground to help your stone look as though it has always been there. If you chose to use other stones, be sure to keep the major stone dominant. And if you want to know more about Yang, go to the: All Good News article.
