The garden, any type of garden is like a coin, with one side being its head, and the other side its tail. Most gardeners will tell you that keeping a garden clean, fresh, tidy and in order is pretty hard work. Many people spend hours, in their gardens, and it’s a well-known fact, that regular gardening is excellent exercise for both the body and the mind, but flipping the coin, there has to be a restful, relaxing side to your plot, and the fact that you can sit out in your garden, comfortably, listening to the bird songs, and watching the wild creatures that visit your special space is the reward you get for all the hard work you have put into it. It is also rewarding when a relative or friend visits you and looking around your garden makes remarks such as it being, a little oasis, or so beautiful, what a result eh? So, to be able to relax in comfort, you need to provide seating. The seating in any garden should be clean and well maintained, for no one can feel comfortable having to sit on an old rocky, grubby looking chair or bench so take good care of your seating, and it’s always best to keep the items covered or stored away when not being used. Same goes for your new Zen Garden, seating is essential for people to relax, sit quiet and just look around and be still in the moment. People need to be able to sit and concentrate on the stones, nestled among your sand or pebbles, the water feature perhaps, or the subtle lighting that helps them focus on specific features. The beauty of your garden, your balcony or plot is that it has two sides, so my friend, be sure to enjoy both.
