We all know how important sleep is to our health and welfare, so feng shui recommends that we make our sleeping area as restful as possible. Make sure your bedroom is kept light and airy, that your drapes and walls have a restful colour and that you do not have a mirror, especially a full-length mirror positioned at the foot of your bed. Also, it is very important, that you do not have any electrical devices in your bedroom as they are all have a tendency to stimulate the mind. A phone, perhaps, so that you can contact someone if you become afraid or are in trouble, but that is about all. Avoid storing holiday cases or bags in the room, cleaning equipment, ironing boards, or anything that reminds you of jobs to do. If you have items waiting to be laundered, they should be kept in a cupboard or drawer out of sight. Avoid having anything in your sight that reminds you of work, or jobs to do. If you find it difficult to fall asleep, try to focus your thought on quiet, restful visions, such as candles, slow moving streams or continual slow counting, which keeps your mind from wondering onto active reminders.
