Your lungs are situated in your chest cavity to the side of your heart, you have a right lung and a left lung, the left being slightly smaller to allow room for your heart. Your lungs are essential to your wellbeing as they are responsible for allowing oxygen to enter the bloodstream whist expelling carbon dioxide. I remarked on your stomach being super noisy, but your lungs have a pretty loud voice themselves, and because of their placement you cannot help but hearing what they are saying to you. It is essential to maintain healthy lungs, for your overall wellbeing. The best way to keep your lungs healthy is to exercise regularly, avoid smoking, and keep your overall exposure to pollutants to a minimum, as they can play havoc with your lungs. Be very aware of sprays of all kinds, especially household and garden sprays, should any spray make you cough, either spray very carefully or avoid using that particular spray. Your lungs can suffer various diseases including asthma, pneumonia, and lung cancer. So, listen to what your lungs are saying and if they are telling you they are sick, consult your GP or health advisor sooner rather than later. Here are some of the ways your lungs communicate with you: Coughing, shortness of breath, excess mucus, wheezing, chest pain or tightness, and chest infections. So, listen and take heed.
